St. Simons Island, Georgia

I took a short trip up to St. Simons Island, Georgia. I planned out photo shoots of sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean. Being based on the west coast of Florida does not present a lot of sunrises over the ocean. I was hoping to come away with some beautiful images to add to my portfolio. Alas, the colorful orange and yellow skies over the water was not to be. The mornings were layered with ground fog. I did capture several nice images. The working lighthouse on the southern tip of the island with the beacon glowing in the night sky is one. A beautiful sunset on the Intracoastal Waterway with the Lanier bridge on the horizon is another one. The island roads are lined with arching Live Oak trees. The most famous is the Avenue of the Oaks, which borders the entrance to Sea Island Resort. I captured several images in the early morning fog. I hope you enjoy the photographs.
